A teen is in custody after a brief pursuit on foot in the City of Menasha.
The Menasha Police Department was called to the 500 block of Baldwin Street yesterday (January 30th) just before noon for a report of a verbal confrontation with an armed individual.
Arriving officers spoke with the homeowner who made the call and located a 17-year-old male who matched the description of the person in question.
The 17-year-old then fled on foot while carrying a handgun.
Menasha PD again located the teen who refused to comply with the initial verbal commands of officers.
Following the brief foot pursuit an officer successfully deployed his TASER and safely apprehended the teenager without further incident.
The Menasha teen was transported to the Winnebago County Jail where he faces numerous criminal charges.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
After the incident, the Menasha Police Department thanked the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross Ambulance, and community members for their assistance and cooperation.
