A local semi-pro baseball player in Manitowoc County for over two decades has been elected to the Shoreland Baseball League Hall of Fame.
Shad Hintz had a standout 21-year career playing for The Two Rivers Polar Bears and Manitowoc Bandits from 2003 through 2023.
Hintz was a fixture in the middle of the batting order for seven championship teams and pitched some at the beginning of his career.
The Shoreland League Hall of Famer finished with over 250 hits, a career batting average of just under 300, and knocked in over 150 runs.
Also inducted is Justin Wotachek , who had an outstanding 11-year career with The Denmark Devil Bears.
Wotachek played from 2007 to 2017, winning seven league titles. His work on the mound is impeccable. In over 300 innings of work, he compiled an ERA of under two and was named the Shoreland pitcher of the year in 2013.
Wotachek, much like Hintz, was a fixture in the middle of the lineup. His career batting average stands over 300, highlighted by a .412 average in 2014.
The induction date has yet to be announced but will occur sometime during the upcoming 2025 Shoreland League Baseball season this summer.
