Manitowoc County is looking to get internet access to underserved households.
During their last board meeting, the board voted on a resolution to allow Bertram Communications to request Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment or BEAD funding to support broadband infrastructure.
The county board’s rural broadband task force reviewed the need for the funding.
The resolution reads that Manitowoc County recognizes that broadband connectivity and reliability are critical infrastructure for health, safety, and quality of life.
Bertram covers several communities in Eastern Wisconsin including Random Lake and Bailey’s Harbor.
