A judge has ruled that Milwaukee Public Schools must hire 25 school resource officers.
The court order, issued on Thursday, is based on Wisconsin Act 12, a law passed in 2023 that mandates school resource officers be present during regular school hours and at certain school-related events.
The judge has set a deadline for the officers to be hired by February 17th.
