A Green Bay shipbuilding company has been accepted to a program through the Wisconsin DNR.
According to the DNR, Fincantieri ACE Marine (FAM) was accepted into the Tier 1 category in the Green Tier Program, which encourages, recognizes, and rewards companies committed to superior environmental performance.
DNR Secretary for Northeast Wisconsin Connie Antonuk says FAM was the first company to join Green Marine, an environmental certification program for North American maritime businesses.
She says, “FAM demonstrates leadership and commitment to the environment by joining Green Tier. We look forward to working with FAM to leverage their environmental management system’s economic and environmental benefits and further reduce their footprint.”
Fincantieri Marine Group is part of the Italian enterprise Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding companies.
The facility on the Fox River is equipped with advanced production and outfitting capabilities, enabling the efficient construction of complex vessels.
