New data reveals that chronic wasting disease (CWD) is significantly lowering the survival rates of white-tailed deer in Wisconsin.
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) conducted a study on deer populations in northern Iowa, Dane, and Grant counties beginning in 2016.
According to the DNR, CWD is hindering deer population growth in the state and could cause population declines, particularly in areas with higher numbers of female deer infected with the disease.
More details about the study are available on the DNR’s website at dnr.wisconsin.gov.
