A barn fire in Sheboygan County claimed the lives of numerous calves.
WHBL reports that the fire took place overnight Sunday (January 19th) into Monday morning (January 20th) on Sumac Road in the Town of Lima, approximately two miles outside of Plymouth.
The Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received the call just before midnight reporting a structure fire in the area.
Over 20 agencies responded to the fire, with crews arriving to see the barn fully engulfed in flames.
The blaze claimed the lives of the 35 to 40 calves housed inside the barn.
No cause of the fire was given, and the incident remains under investigation.
Firefighters battled the flames in harsh temperatures, with wind chills hovering around 20 below zero.
