The Manitowoc Police Department utilized drones and K9s to help find two people who fled from a traffic stop late last week.
Police reports state that an officer on patrol saw a U-Haul cargo van without its lights on driving on Calumet Avenue just before 10:30 Friday evening.
The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but when he approached the vehicle in the Burger King parking lot, the 38-year-old male driver sped off.
The van was later located near Halvorson Park, and backup was called. K9 Riley and his handler began searching the area, and a drone operator launched a drone into the sky.
The driver, who was identified by a debit card found in the van, and another individual were seen walking briskly a few blocks away, darting through the backyards of residences.
They were quickly apprehended. Inside the van, officers located four checks that were not addressed to or from either individual, as well as some drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The driver refused to answer any questions and was arrested on charges of Fleeing and Eluding an Officer, Obstructing or Resisting an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine, and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping. The woman was also arrested and is being held on a probation hold.
