A bar in Sheboygan is still attempting to take legal action against the City for lost profits.
Sheboygan’s Finance and Personnel Committee met on Monday (January 13th) and one item up for discussion regarded Dave’s Who’s Inn.
Dave’s Who’s Inn is seeking a $12,935 reimbursement for profits lost between July 1st through August 5th of last year following the revocation of their liquor license and subsequent closure.
At Monday’s meeting, the committee reviewed the notice of claim, which was filed in October by Holden and Hahn, legal counsel for Dave Repinski of Dave’s Who’s Inn.
This notice of claim was filed after the bar was allowed to reopen under lighter restrictions after this very committee determined the initial conditions placed on Repinski’s liquor license were considered excessive, unfair, and with no concrete end date.
These initial conditions are also what caused the establishment to close last year in the first place, and thus, Repinski believes he rightly deserves this reimbursement.
The committee voted unanimously to recommend the Sheboygan Common Council file the report.
SeehaferNews.com consulted with a local lawyer who stated that filing a notice of claim is often a predecessor to a lawsuit, however, no lawsuit has been filed at this time.
