The voice of the Milwaukee Brewers for 53 years has passed away.
Multiple sources report that Bob Uecker passed today.
He was 90 years old.
In a statement on the team’s Facebook page, they say Ueck was the light of the Brewers, the soundtrack of summers, the laughter in our hearts, and the passing is a profound loss.
He was the heart and soul of Wisconsin and a dear friend.
The statement finishes saying, “There is no describing the impact Ueck had on so many, and no words for how much he was loved. We are left with a giant void in our hearts but also remember the laughter and joy he brought to our lives.”
Uecker started with the Brewers in 1971 after a handshake deal with then Brewers Owner Bud Selig.
He made numerous appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, was George Owens on the TV show Mr. Belvedere, and was the baseball announcer Harry Doyle in the movie Major League.
