Seniors William Sieracki of Valders Vikings and Lauren Stangel of Roncalli made history on the basketball court this week.
On Monday night, Sieracki, a senior guard for the Vikings, scored a basket against Two Rivers on the Raiders floor to join the 1,000-point club for his career.
Sieracki, a three-year starter for Head Coach Trevor Schwoerer, will lead The Vikings against state-ranked Roncalli Thursday night in an EWC contest in Valders.
It’s the first of two meetings this season, and you can hear the broadcast on 107.9 WOMT and womtradio.com, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, Stangel, who’s started all four years of her career for Roncalli Head Coach Amanda Bauer, scored career points 1,000 and 1,001 on free throws towards the end of last night’s 59 to 40 defeat to Chilton in a game played on the Tigers home floor.
Stangel and The Jets will look to get back on track Friday night when they travel to Two Rivers to meet The Raiders.
The Raiders took the first meeting at The Hangar 53 to 42 on December 3rd. The Raiders and Jets coverage will be on 97.1 WCUB and cubradio.com beginning at 7 p.m.
