The director of mission advancement at Manitowoc Lutheran High School calls the new gymnasium very rewarding.
The comments come from Kevin Buch after a gym dedication service was held on Sunday (January 12th).
Buch says the service had very good attendance, with many people who gave glory to God for the blessing he has given.
He continues saying the entire Lancer family is very excited about the new gym because the school’s expansion was incoming.
“We have needed more room for our extracurricular activities both in the sports area of course but also when it comes to springtime and when we have our musical, we just didn’t have enough room to do all of those things,” he explained. “So, this is really going to help us out.”
Buch says that while everyone is excited about how it looks, the wooden floor is made of cushiony material.
Buch noted that “the referees that have worked in there have expressed how nice it is to run on.”
As we’ve reported before, the Lancers boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have also gotten a chance to play on the new court since the gym was finished.
But Buch says students have been awed when they see it themselves.
“When they see the graphics and the things that have been designed and have been installed in the gym,” he said. “The space is great but now it’s really starting to look like it’s lived in. So, it’s been a lot of wow.”
Buch says the school isn’t done looking at possible expansion.
He says there will be a committee meeting on Wednesday that will look at the campus and decide what needs to be done next.
He says enrollment is growing, so something will have to be done.
