A 40-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly fired a gun in a retail store.
Oshkosh Police dispatched officers and detectives to a retail store in the 100 block of North Washburn Street just before 9:00 last Thursday morning (December 9th) on a report of shots being fired.
An investigation revealed that the yet unidentified man entered the store, loaded a handgun that was up for sale, fired off at least one shot, and then left.
No one was injured in the incident, but there was some property damage.
The store was said to have safety measures in place, including trigger locks, but the man was able to bypass those measures.
The suspect has since been arrested on charges of Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
