A man is in custody after causing a disturbance with two guns.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the Village of Wittenburg Saturday (January 11th) just before 10:00 pm after the man entered a residence with the guns.
The 36-year-old man was apparently intoxicated and, after a brief struggle, went to another residence nearby, leaving the guns at the scene.
Shawano County Sheriff’s arrived and found the guns before calling in an armored personnel vehicle from the Marathon County SWAT Team.
Several residences nearby were evacuated for safety.
The residence the suspect was in was surrounded before he gave up after a multi-hour standoff and was arrested.
Shawano County Sheriff’s says the man is facing several charges; however, no rounds were fired by the man or law enforcement.
No other details are being released.
