A Fond du Lac County home received significant damage after a fire Wednesday night (January 7th).
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the 3300 block of Oak Center Road in the Town of Oakfield just after 7:15 p.m. regarding a fire on the outside wall of a residence.
Once firefighters and sheriff’s deputies arrived, a resident in the area also showed up with a fire extinguisher to prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the house.
The Oakfield Fire Department arrived as the fire spread to the resident’s attic.
The initial investigation shows that the first started from a wood pellet stove on an outside wall.
No injuries were reported.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies and Oakfield firefighters were assisted by the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center, Brownsville Fire, Lamartine Fire, Lifestar Ambulance, RIT Team Four, and Alliant Energy.
