The trial for the Green Bay Correctional inmate charged with killing his cellmate has been delayed.
According to court records, 24-year-old Jackson Vogel was back in a Brown County Courtroom for an evidentiary hearing.
He will be back in court on March 17th for a status conference.
WBAY reports that the judge delayed the trial to allow Vogel’s lawyers to get an additional mental health evaluation.
Vogel is charged with killing 19-year-old Micah Laureano because of his race and sexual orientation back in September last year.
Vogel was already serving prison time for a Manitowoc County case where he was charged with attempted first-degree homicide after he stabbed a family member.
