Firefighters have begun their 2025 department training in Kiel.
Kiel Fire and Rescue kicked off their training this week, starting with an integrated fire and EMS extraction drill from an old car donated by the city.
Firefighters broke off into two groups to focus on separate parts of the extraction process.
One team’s focus concentrated on extraction, safely moving patients, and management of traumatic injuries.
The second team undertook breaching the car to gain entry, ventilation, and search of the vehicle.
This is the first training session of the year in continual work by the Kiel Fire and Rescue Department to stay up-to-date and ready for an increasing number of calls for service in recent years.
