
A 19-year-old man, who was armed and suspected of child sexual assault, is hospitalized after being shot during a confrontation with Milwaukee police officers.
The incident occurred late Monday night (January 6th) near Sixth Street and Arthur Avenue.
According to Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman, the injury is not life-threatening.
The suspect was inside a home when officers arrived, and a struggle broke out after he pulled a firearm while engaging with the officers.
In addition to sexual assault, the man was wanted for child enticement.
Chief Norman confirmed that the case would be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for potential charges.
