No one was hurt during a fire over the weekend in Kaukauna.
The Kaukauna Fire Department responded to a fire at the Lamplighter Apartments on Saturday (January 4th) at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The initial call reported a residential fire alarm with water flow at the complex.
Arriving crews observed residents evacuating the complex without visible smoke or flames.
A brief search with residents discovered a small fire on a second-story balcony where a single fire sprinkler had fully extinguished before the department had arrived.
Damage was limited to a small portion of the building’s exterior, and significant damage was avoided, thanks to the presence and effectiveness of the sprinkler system.
After the incident, The Kaukauna Fire Department reminded residents to always dispose of smoking materials in fireproof receptacles.
