A man in Fond du Lac charged with crashing his vehicle into a Verizon store has been convicted.
Court records show that 21-year-old Benjamin Ayer of Oakfield pleaded no contest to eight charges, including four counts of 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of drug paraphernalia, and causing injury while under the influence during a court appearance yesterday in a Fond du Lac County Courtroom.
Three charges were dismissed but read into the record, while prosecutors dismissed another.
FOX11 reports that in April 2023, Ayer was huffing electronic duster cleaner before driving.
He then jumped the curb and collided with the Verizon phone store on Rolling Meadows Drive, causing the injury of six people, including a life-threatening injury when a woman was pinned under Ayer’s car.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced on February 14th.
