One peregrine falcon from Wisconsin Public Services plants has been seen in the wild.
WPS says that’s a rare thing to find, but Olympic bronze medalist trap shooter Madelynn Bernau got a picture of the falcon named “Trapper” mid-flight in Sheboygan Falls.
Bernau said it was incredible to see him (Trapper) “maturing and thriving as a juvenile in his natural habitat.”
The picture was sent to Peregrine Falcon Manager Greg Septon, who identified Trapper through a band on his leg.
Trapper was one of nine chicks born during another highly successful We Energies and WPS nesting season.
According to the electric companies, a new group of chicks will be arriving soon.
