It’s the most Wisconsin way to ring in the New Year.
The annual Sartori Big Cheese Drop is known throughout the nation as one of the quirkiest New Year’s Eve traditions.
For 17 years, Sartori Cheese in Plymouth has taken a massive cheese wedge and used it as their version of the traditional New York City ball drop.
This year’s festivities will begin at 7:30 this evening (December 31st) in the Plymouth Performing Arts Center’s Greatroom, with live music by the String Along Band.
The event will also feature cheese tasting, a cash bar, complimentary hot cider donated by Scott & Julie Overby of Log Cabin Orchard, hot cocoa ,and several bonfires.
Then, at 10:00 p.m., it will be time for the main event, the dropping of a giant wedge of Sartori’s world award-winning BellaVitano® Gold Cheese.
The Plymouth Arts Center is located at 520 East Mill Street.
