The Wisconsin Herd has added a new sharpshooter with some ties to the state.
The Herd has announced the acquisition of Jack Gohlke, a graduate of Pewaukee High School.
The six-foot-three guard began his college career at Hillsdale College before transferring to Oakland College.
It is here where Gohlke grew to national recognition. In an impressive three-game stretch to finish off his collegiate career.
Gohlke’s Oakland College Golden Grizzlies defeated UW-Milwaukee to capture the Horizon League Tournament Championship.
Gohlke wasn’t finished as he hit an impressive 10 three-pointers, fueling an improbable upset of the three-seeded Kentucky Wildcats.
Gohlke’s 10 threes were good enough for second-most all-time in an NCAA tournament game, one short of the record 11.
Despite six more three-pointers from Gohlke, Oakland would lose their following game in overtime to North Carolina State, who made the final four.
The Pewaukee grad joins the Herd after most recently playing professionally in Montenegro.
