A local mental health organization is trying out a new program to help the youth of Manitowoc County.
Painting Pathways has traditionally been a place for adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns but recently has been welcoming minors.
Amber Hutchinson, the Executive Director of the Clubhouse, was on WOMT’s Be My Guest program this week, where she explained why the program is different from their normal programming.
“They are not able to be in our building during normal business hours,” she explained. “We are playing with that idea, and seeing where it is.”
As of now there is only one young person involved, but if the program were to be deemed plausible, it could be expanded to include other youths.
