A crash on Christmas Day in Oconto County claimed one life and left a young child recovering from injuries.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center received a call on Wednesday (December 25th) just before 11:00 a.m. reporting a one-vehicle accident with injuries.
The crash occurred in the Town of Chase on County Highway S near the intersection of County Highway C.
Sheriff’s Deputies responding discovered a Chevy SUV in a yard with extensive front-end damage after striking a tree.
The driver, a 29-year-old man from Pulaski, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 4-year-old child passenger was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Initial investigations suggest that the eastbound SUV, for unknown reasons, left the roadway, drifted through the ditch, and struck the tree.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tri-County Fire Department, NEW Rescue, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
