The charges filed against a man accused of hit and run are now official.
33-year-old Anthony E. Neuser of Two Rivers was in Manitowoc County Court Monday, where he was given a $2,000 recognizance bond on charges of Hit and Run, Obstructing, and four counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
Neuser was allegedly behind the wheel of a car that was involved in an accident at the intersection of Manitowoc’s Calumet Avenue and 26th Street last week Friday.
He reportedly tried to drive away from the crash, but his car stalled a short distance away, so he fled on foot.
Neuser’s mother told police that he called her to pick him up at a gas station nearby and admitted to being in an accident.
However, he repeatedly denied being involved until they told him that his mom already told them the truth.
Neuser was ordered to have no contact with the victim of the crash and to not operate any motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
He is due back in court on January 13th for his initial appearance.
