We now know of one committee where a state representative will be.
3rd District Assemblyman Ron Tusler announced in his weekly newsletter that he’s been selected as the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee for a third time.
Tusler says, as an attorney, “It is a great honor for me to continue working in my area of expertise to improve Wisconsin’s judicial system.”
He highlighted bail reform as something that was accomplished during the last session.
This year, Tusler says the Judiciary Committee will work to tackle the Sixth Amendment issue of slow-moving courts hindering Wisconsin.
He also says there’s a lawyer shortage, especially in rural areas, which plays a big part in scheduling trials.
Lastly, he says he will continue to block propositions by Democrats who he says will let guilty criminals go unpunished.
2nd District Assemblyman Shae Sortwell also served on the committee during the 2023 legislative session.
