Art students at Sheboygan South recently collaborated with a local business to create custom skateboards.
Students got the chance to blend artistic expression and practical application in this collaboration with Rev Board Shop in Downtown Sheboygan.
Brian Sommersberger and Kevin Bazan, art teachers at South High, led the project and aimed to bridge the gap for students between traditional art techniques with a modern, youth-inspired medium.
Speaking on the project, Sommersberger said, “It’s projects like these that make art education relevant and exciting.”
This collaboration not only highlighted the students’ artistic abilities but also showed the value of community partnerships in education.
The completed skateboards are currently on display and can be viewed at Rev Board Shop.
