A Menasha man is facing charges after allegedly stealing items, including guns, from vehicles in November.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says multiple vehicles were entered at a residence near the Firelane area on the north shore of Lake Winnebago in the Village of Harrison.
Sheriff’s deputies identified 18-year-old Tristan Backus of Menasha as a suspect.
On Monday (December 9th), deputies did surveillance at a residence in the City of Menasha and saw Backus leave and drive to a local gas station.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Calumet County Sheriff’s Deputies would like to remind everyone to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock them.
Most of the vehicles that had things stolen from them were unlocked, as with most theft from vehicle cases.
Backus is now in the Calumet County Correctional Facility and charged with nine counts of theft-movable property, burglary, and two counts of theft of firearms.
Court records show that his bond was set at $7,500 cash.
His next court date is January 8th.
