A group of Manitowoc County veterans participated in a veteran suicide awareness ruck march last month.
The group of Matt Koch, Nancy Rivera, and Greg Schneider, along with family and friends, were at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay for the annual HOOAH WI Veteran Suicide Awareness Ruck March on November 9th.
The American Legion Post 477 members all wore Be The One t-shirts and carried Be The One flags to raise awareness of the Legion’s ‘Be The One’ program, which raises awareness of Veteran suicides and provides a platform to destigmatize asking for mental health support.
Each of the Post 477 team members also has a connection to a Veteran who has died by suicide: a son, a stepson, an uncle, a friend, a co-worker, a fellow Soldier, and a fellow Marine.
