A local Elks Lodge has gotten into the holiday spirit.
Elks Lodge #687 recently donated $9,600 to three local non-profits.
The local branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters received $4,000 to supply the children with new winter clothing and offset the cost of their upcoming Christmas party.
Lodge #608 Chairperson Tim Ahrens also reports that the group donated $4,500 to the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County for winter clothing and to help 140 families this holiday season.
Lastly, $1,100 was donated to InCourage.
That money will help offset the cost of individuals and families seeking shelter after experiencing domestic violence.
Ahrens said of the donations, “The Manitowoc Elks Lodge Believes in supporting our community because Elks care, Elks share.”
