The Manitowoc Public School District is using a grant to map their school for law enforcement.
The grant is offered through the Wisconsin Department of Instruction.
Interim Superintendent Lee Thennes explained on the WCUB Breakfast Club that the mapping ensures students have a safe learning environment.
A company will come in and digitally map a school and the map is given to law enforcement.
The grant is worth $50,000.
Thennes says it’s also good because it helps them save money as they have a tight budget.
Manitowoc Lutheran also received about $5,000 for digital mapping.
Two Rivers and Valders School District also received $20,000 in grant funding.
