This morning’s winter weather caused several car crashes in and around Manitowoc County.
Manitowoc Police Chief Nick Reimer explained on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that there were six vehicle accidents within the city and 28 crashes around the county just before 9:00 a.m.
Reimer reminds drivers to always slow down when it’s snowing and leave some more space between vehicles.
Reimer also noted, “Whether it be work or wherever you need to be, doctors’ appointment, you need to leave earlier because it’s going to take you longer than it normally would. Speed limits are normally meant for when there’s perfect conditions.”
Reimer reminds drivers to be careful of downed powerlines caused by the snow.
Manitowoc Public Utilities crews were working on restoring power to some areas after the snowstorm.
