A man is facing charges after he allegedly attacked a woman at a Manitowoc bar.
The Manitowoc Police Department reports that they dispatched officers to a residence just before 1:45 Sunday morning to investigate the alleged attack.
They learned that the victim and the 39-year-old man were at Van’s Bar earlier in the evening when an argument ensued because the man was “looking at other females.”
The victim told the man she wanted to leave, but the man refused.
The victim then got into their car and started to leave, but they stopped when they saw the suspect exit the bar.
The man then allegedly opened the driver’s side door and attempted to pull the victim out but failed because they were wearing a seatbelt.
He eventually got into the vehicle, and the duo argued for the rest of the way home.
When they got home, the man allegedly used both hands to strangulate the victim for five or six seconds and pushed them into a bathroom wall when they got inside.
The man was arrested shortly thereafter on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Battery, and Strangulation, each with Domestic Violence enhancers, as well as Felony Bail Jumping and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
