Brown County Parks has announced that certain park areas will be closed during deer gun season.
Deer gun hunting season begins at sunrise of November 23rd, running until sunset of December 1st and areas within the Brown County Park System will close during that time.
Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve and the Fort Howard Paper Foundation Wildlife Area trails will be closed for the entirety of the season unless possessing a valid county special hunt permit.
All trails in the Reforestation Camp will also be closed throughout deer gun season.
Additionally, the Vande Hei Property will be open to only hunters until December 1st.
Brown County Parks recommends the public wear blaze orange when utilizing the open areas of parks that remain open during this season.
