The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office is saying goodbye to one of their K9 officers.
In a post on Facebook, Deputies said Friday (November 8th) was a bittersweet day because they said farewell to K9 Amer on his last patrol shift.
Amer has served the citizens of Calumet County since the spring of 2016, and deputies say his impact has been tremendous.
Throughout his career, Amer was deployed 635 times, leading to 259 arrests and locating more than 23 people.
Earlier this month, the department gathered along with handlers from neighboring agencies to honor Amer’s outstanding career with a special retirement celebration.
Calumet County Sheriff’s Deputies finish by congratulating Amer on his retirement because of his dedication and loyalty, which made a real difference in the community.
