The 2025 City of Manitowoc budget is moving forward to a public hearing without change.
The Manitowoc Finance Committee approved the 2025 budget Tuesday (October 29th) on a 4-1 vote.
It will now be moved forward to the Common Council for consideration at their next meeting.
Mayor Justin Nickels tells Seehafer New that it’s the first time in his career that a budget has been approved without any changes.
During the committee hearing, the committee discussed some issues, including some jobs that aren’t being funded, police radio replacement, and a decrease in downtown investments.
Nickels proposed the budget during last week’s Common Council meeting.
Highlights include a $35 million six-year road investment plan, modifications at Red Arrow Beach, and more investments into the city’s skate park.
