A fire in Oshkosh has left one person recovering from their injuries.
The Oshkosh Fire Department was called for a structure fire in the 1700 block of Taft Avenue just after 7:00 a.m. yesterday (October 9th).
The call reported fire alarms going off and black smoke coming from an apartment complex.
Arriving fire crews learned that a female victim in the hallway had been pulled from the flames by the building’s maintenance supervisor.
She was removed from the building by firefighters and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Other residents were treated on scene for smoke inhalation but did not need to be sent to the hospital.
The fire was contained to the unit where the fire began, which suffered substantial smoke and fire damage, while the apartment above also sustained minor damage.
All other units have been deemed okay for residents to return to.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Oshkosh Fire Department thanked the maintenance supervisor and other residents for their quick actions to save the victim.
