Milwaukee’s former city attorney, Tearman Spencer, is now facing misconduct and obstruction charges.
The charges, filed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, allege that Spencer manipulated regulations to benefit the owners of a building where he stored multiple cars.
Prosecutors claim that Spencer interfered with the investigation, pressuring city inspection crews looking into the building.
Additionally, investigators say Spencer failed to disclose his connection to the property.
If convicted, Spencer could face up to three years in prison.
