Middle school students in Fond du Lac will be going to school today (September 9th) following an alleged threat.
Fond du Lac Police released a statement from the Fond du Lac School District on their Facebook page after an alleged threat was made toward Theisen Middle School last Friday (September 6th).
The school district’s administrative team started an investigation and notified their School Resource Officer.
But, over the weekend, another threat was made toward Woodworth Middle School.
After the district’s investigation, it was determined that there was no credible threat toward either of the schools.
However, Fond du Lac Police will increase their presence at Thiesen and Woodworth schools today (September 9th) out of an abundance of caution.
The Fond du Lac School District says the incident is an unfortunate example of what can happen when rumors spread, whether in person or via social media.
They also remind everyone that if you see something, say something.
