
It was a busy day at Kiel High School last Thursday (September 5th), as twenty high schools and eighteen middle schools gathered for the annual Kiel Cross Country Invitational.
In the girls’ varsity race, Little Chute took home the gold, while Kiel finished second, followed by Kohler, Valders, and Two Rivers, while Mishicot finished 12th.
Kohler’s Maggie Behler was the top individual finisher, with a time of 19 minutes, 3.2 seconds, while Little Chute’s Ashley Wilson and Lauren Wegand finished 2nd and 3rd.
Lillian Larson was Kiel’s best runner, coming in 8th, Mishicot’s Julia Doerner was 10th, and Hannah Welch of Valders finished 11th.
Spots 15 through 17 belonged to a trio of Two Rivers runners: Allie Gallagher, Breanne Kulpa, and Ashley Groothoff.
On the boys’ side, Port Washington was the top team, followed by Kohler and Two Rivers, while Valders was 8th, Kiel finished 10th, and Mishicot was 13th.
Kyle Kieper of Kettler Moraine Lutheran was the top individual runner, with Eli Gallagher of Two Rivers finishing 4th, Kiel’s Sam Keuler coming in 9th, Gunnar Romuald of Valders in 19th, and Greyson Armbruster of Mishicot finishing 48th.
