The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters to prepare accordingly as hunting season begins on Sunday (September 1st).
Throughout September, there are six different dates on which specific seasons open.
On September 1st common gallinule, early Canada goose and teal, mourning dove, rail, and snipe seasons will open.
Later in the week, the bear season opens on September 4th.
Ten days later, the 14th, cottontail rabbit, archery and crossbow deer, ruffed grouse, squirrel, turkey, and youth waterfowl seasons will kick off.
The northern zone duck and woodcock hunting seasons will start on the 21st, and the southern zone duck season follows on September 28th.
This is Wisconsin’s most popular hunting season and the DNR wants to remind hunters to do their part in keeping the state a safe place to hunt.
