Manitowoc County’s congressman in Washington is asking the political world to reflect on a tragedy in Milwaukee after a visit to Wisconsin from Vice President Kamala Harris and her new VP pick Tim Walz.
Congressman Glenn Grothman says it’s important to remember Bernell Trammell, a Milwaukee print shop owner who was killed in July 2020.
Grothman says, “It is important to take the time to reflect on this tragedy. This year, biased politicians and slanted media sources are fomenting unrest which has led to political violence and death.”
This statement from Grothman also comes following an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump just a few weeks ago.
Grothman continues asking the media to “shine a light on the story of Bernell Trammell and use this opportunity today, when all eyes are on Wisconsin, to remember him, the tragic story of the end of his life, and the fact that his killer has not yet been brought to justice.”
Grothman has called upon the Wisconsin Legislature to commemorate Bernell Trammell on each July 23rd of an election year.
Trammell’s murder has yet to be solved.
