A fire in Bellevue over the weekend is being blamed on the improper disposal of fireworks.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department dispatched crews to a single-family home in the village just after 12:45 a.m. Friday, where they found an attached garage on fire.
The flames had also spread to the attic and the main structure and took around half an hour to get under control.
No injuries were reported, as the residents had all self-evacuated by the time crews arrived.
An investigation by the Fire Marshal determined the family had not disposed of their fireworks correctly, which then started the fire and caused an estimated $175,000 in damage.
A total of nine people were displaced and are being aided by the American Red Cross.
