It was a defensive battle at Donald J. Schnieder Stadium Saturday, but in the end, the Manitowoc County Mariners walked away with a 14-8 overtime win over the Brown County Blackjacks.
With just under 4 minutes remaining in extra time, Marcos Alfaro II found his brother Miguel on a 49-yard toss, which he would take to the house for the win.
Defensively, Michael Quinchia had 2 sacks and a forced fumble that was recovered by John Henry, while Richard Micheaux II recorded 8 tackles.
Micheaux also contributed on offense, catching three passes for 39 yards while also converting a two-point conversion.
The Mariners will take the week off before returning to Rubick Field on July 13th.
