The Manitowoc American Legion 19U baseball team went 3-1 at the Marinette Tournament over the weekend.
The squad started strong, taking down Sault Ste. Marie 16-8 Friday, with four batters earning two RBI apiece.
Post 88 collapsed Saturday during the first game of the day, giving up a late three-run scoring double and falling to Green Bay Southwest 7-5.
They would bounce back in the nightcap, dominating Gladstone 13-2 to earn a spot in the consolation championship game against Watertown.
Eyan Dessellier was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 batters in 6 innings while allowing just one hit and earning the 10-0 win.
Brock Peterson drove in four runs on two hits, one of which went over the outfield wall, giving Manitowoc the big win.
The 19U squad is off today before hosting the Appleton Doubledays Tuesday.
The 17U squad also earned a big win Friday, dominating Ashwaubenon 16-3 before the second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to rain.
They are next slated to be in Sheboygan tonight, while the 16U team is hosting a doubleheader against Shawano today (July 1st).
