The Algoma Fire Rescue Department is celebrating a major milestone this weekend.
Everyone is invited out to Legion Park, located at 620 Lake Street in Algoma, this Saturday to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the department.
According to their website, the Algoma Fire Department was founded in 1874 “on the foundation to not only provide a service to its community, but to be an integral asset to the community, going above and beyond to bring safety and security to those the department serves.”
The festivities will begin at noon with a parade, with food and beverages being served at the park.
There will also be a bounce house and other kids’ activities.
Live music will also fill the air, with the Mark Jirkovac Polka Band hitting the stage at 2:00 p.m. and Pink Houses performing at 6:00 p.m.
