Briess Malt is celebrating Manitowoc becoming the Specialty Malt Capital of the World this afternoon.
The public is invited to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum at 3:30 p.m., where the official proclamation will be read by Mayor Justin Nickels before comments from the Briess CEO Craig Briess.
In celebration of craft brewers who use Briess’ malts, beer samples from local breweries will be available to sample.
According to Briess, they’ve become the largest product line of any malting company in the world, with its products used in all 50 states and more than 25 countries around the world.
Director of Marketing Ron Schroder explains that the special designation of Manitowoc as Specialty Malt Capital of the World belongs to all those who have worked at the company through the years and remained committed to producing the highest quality specialty malt for the industries they serve.
Admission to the event at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum will be free for those who attend.
