A Manitowoc woman is dead, and two more are hurt after a single-vehicle crash in Door County.
Sturgeon Bay police were called to the 1300 block of Green Bay Rd. or Highway 42 and 57 for the crash after the vehicle hit a brick retention wall.
Assistant Police Chief Dan Brinkman says witnesses told police the vehicle was traveling west on Highway 42/57 when it drifted to the right, went over the curb, and struck the retention wall head-on.
The 44-year-old female front-seat passenger from Manitowoc was pronounced dead at the scene, while another 16-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman is in critical condition.
The driver, a 38-year-old man from Sturgeon Bay, is also in critical condition.
No other information about the condition of the other occupants is available, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The highway was closed for several hours while the accident was investigated.
Sturgeon Bay Police also got help from the Door County Sheriff’s Department, Sturgeon Bay Fire Department, Door County EMS, and the Brown County Medical Examiners Office.
