A fight at a Manitowoc restaurant has landed one man in jail.
The Manitowoc Police Department dispatched officers to La Carretta on Calumet Avenue just before 5:00 Monday evening on a report of a physical altercation.
One of the suspects was seen in the Pick N Save parking lot banging on a woman’s car, asking for money.
The 21-year-old man spoke very little English, so a translator was called.
The suspect admitted to drinking prior to the altercation and had visible injuries, so he requested medical attention.
As he was being transported to a local hospital, the man allegedly became combative with officers and refused to comply with officer’s commands.
He was eventually taken to the hospital, where he threatened to kill the officers if they removed the handcuffs.
He repeated that threat several times during his examination, after which he was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Resisting an Officer, and Threats to Law Enforcement.
